Hi all - we are away for the week and I have just realised I have forgotten to bring my mirtazapine tablets with me which I need to take before bed as they make me sleep ! I am panicking now as I know I will be waking up at silly o-clock and the insomnia will set in - anyone know of anything I can get over the counter tomorrow which may help me sleep?!?

Where are you on holiday? If in the UK visit a Pharmacist and explain what you are taking and that you have left them at home. If necessary he/she will ring your Surgery to check on the Prescription. I did that years ago ::) and was given enough to tide me over.
What's wrong with waking early on holiday? There will be different noises, it's getting light by 6.00 in the UK and will be the chance to watch the World going by ;-)

This is really useful information. I am not always a fan of the internet but you can more or less find out anything you want to.
Yesterday we bought a pop up play tent and couldn't for the life of us get it folded back down. After much frustration we found a you tube tutorial that showed how to do it. Is there anything you can't find on the internet.
I digress, hope you get your medication with no trouble annidav

Thanks all - we are in the UK so will try and get to a pharmacy! When I say waking up early I don't mean 6 a.m !!!! It can be stupid times like 1.55!!! And it's not the actual waking up early but the resulting anxiety and panic attacks I really do 't want !!

You may find that being away you won't have the panic ;-).
Did you find a Pharmacy?

It's difficult to just stop taking mirtazapine I think, CLKD, without experiencing withdrawal symptoms?

I was referring to waking in the early hours ::)
Any news :-\

The mirtazapine aids sleep but also sudden withdrawal can cause increased panic.

Hi all - managed to get some tablets - spoke to my surgery who were able to send an electronic prescription to the pharmacy nearest to us and I was able to collect them this afternoon - was getting so stressed trying to sort it out though - and annoyed with myself for forgetting to pack them - they Re usually the first thing to get packed but I am also finding my memory is in a right mess lately and I get flustered at the slightest thing! I'm glad you've got it sorted Annidav - now you enjoy your holiday.

……. and breath :D
I have always made lists ……. I also have a specific small case which holds all the medication and I remove my nightly/morning dose the day before, put that to one side and pack the packets ready for the holiday ;-).
