During the last few weeks I've noticed a couple of new symptoms in my menopause journey and wondered if it was normal or might be a sign of something else. I've noticed that the hair on my legs (particularly the lower part) has become quite sparce and slow-growing and now is barely noticeable. This has taken place over the course of a month or so and is actually quite amazing as I've suffered with quite coarse, hairy legs since my teens and was always extremely conscious of it and hated the regime of the whole shaving/waxing thing. Now I'm not complaining, but its come about twenty years too late to enjoy it!
The other thing I've become aware of is that I've stopped producing perspiration from my armpits. Again I was always very conscious of being quite 'sweaty' in certain situations and the more I worried about it the worse it became, but this has now completely stopped. I feel very dry and comfortable and I'm loving the fact that I can wear anything without worrying about wetness! I'm still having the odd night sweat despite being on Hrt so I'm sweating in other places so I'm wondering what's happening and if anyone else has these symptoms?

Jaz,
many years ago I recall an older lady telling me that she lost all her pubic hair after menopause but I'm not sure about the perspiration. The hairs on my lower legs seem to require shaving less often.....or is that just because I dont wear my reading glasses in the shower lol! ;)

I have 50% less leg, underarm and pubic hair but have more facial hair. I still need to wash pits and bits as get sweaty but less hair means body odour does not get overwhelming.

I wear wicking clothing generally. 2-day I have a thick jumper on so am aware of sweating under the arm-pits. Sadly my hairy state hasn't lessened yet ::)

Definitely less leg hair for me, but I have been cutting down on my HRT (now on 3 tablets a week of ultra low dose Femosten). Also I don't have sweaty arm pits quite so much either.
Facial hair has increased though - I use a Tweezle about once a week.

I lost loads of pubic hair after the births of each of my two children ! Almost bare after the second and it's never grown back.
I was laughing with my older friend the other day who was delighting in the fact that she had no arm or leg hair whatsoever since menopause and I said if it were me I would be straight on to doctor Google to see which cancer I had and she said she had a meno brain and couldn't be doing with computers !!! ;D

I had a problem with body hair in my 20s and the pill made it worse. Once I hit my 30s, it suddenly slowed down and now I hardly ever have to do my legs or anywhere else. I don't think this is anything to do with the menopause in my case.
The sweating is another matter though and that did change with the menopause. I stopped sweating under my arms and starting sweating a lot on my face, under the bra line and on the lower back. I have never had hot flushes or night sweats but I did have a dodgy thermostat and broke into a sweat too easily.
That is all in the past now and since being on the Oestrogel and getting my oestrogen levels back to normal, I now sweat under the arms again and not in the other places and my thermostat is back to normal.
