Title: Chemical hysterectomy and the use of progesterone

I'm a bit confused as I thought that progesterone still needs to be used if your adding back in estrogen? I read about a woman who didn't??

 :thankyou:

If you have womb I believe that you need both, the progesterone cleanses the womb as 'normal'?

Yes CLKD is right - if you shut down your ovaries chemically and then add back HRT - the idea is to eliminate fluctuations and therefore extreme cyclical symptoms - but anyone with a uterus still  needs a progestogen. That woman is not doing the correct treatment unless on v low dose oestrogen and regular scan to check the uterus lining.
