I saw a physio a month ago for facial pain/pressure. They pushed on my neck joints when I was laying on my front. Since then my neck cracks when I move. It's like a gun going off. They have been away & I am seeing them this week. I am so worried about why this is happening or they have caused damage. I did not click/crack before.

I have seen a chiropractor for years those noises are a build up of gas believe it or not so it sounds like they have moved something which had created it. It needs a movement to get rid of it.

Yep its caused by gas release in your neck tendons if its like a gunshot. If its just a crackle on turning your head then its usually wear and tear in the joints but not necessarily a cause for concern.
I have severe neck problems with prolapsed disc and 2 years ago i stood up under a low ceiling and compressed my neck when my head hit the ceiling ::) at the same time I heard what sounded like a gunshot from my neck, I was totally convinced I had broken a bone but a Dr reassured me it was the tendon. For 8 months afterwards everytime I turned my neck one way I got the gunshot sound. an mri confirmed apart from my usual problems there was nothing else and it was all down to a strained tendon and got better eventually. Scared the pants off me when it happened ;D

Thank you. Saw physio who did the pushing of my neck joints. She said it can just be air etc but it's horrible & I didn't have it before. Had neck massage & face muscle. So hoping this time it will be positive

Just feels like every time I go & try & get help I end up worse. The crackings driving me mad.

When I drive my car ( must be something to do with the position I sit in ) my neck feels a little uncomfortable every so often and causes me to tip my head to the left hand side. When I do it cracks. I have often wondered why it happens but as it doesn't cause me any pain I haven't done anything about it. Hope yours stops soon as it sounds like its worrying you.

Not going to read the link as i worry enough as it, but remember my GP advising me not to let chiropractor manipulate my neck as risk of stroke. Indeed the chiiro's own leaflets on neck pain and manipulation listed it as possibility. Gentle physio was his recommendation with little or no manipulation, just exercises. My neck can crack when Im tense as muscles go into spasm - also bit of cervical spondylosis.

I didn't have any cracking until the physio pushed hard on my neck joints :(

Having to see a consultant about my neck. Did not have the cracking before the physio pushed my neck. I was seeing them for face pain. I had neck pain first and then the neck cracking after the treatment. They said it is because I have more movement but I am worried about it.

Had MRI Tuesday as neck still cracking after physio pushed down on the joints when I was laying on the table. Cracks so many places in the neck all the time :(

Wow, why are so many people disappearing from this forum?? ???

Well - I think it is because Peterspots became Englishrose only there was another English Rose. (from reading another thread). Dunno about Katie. It just looks that way from this thread. :o

Peterspots was originally Peterspots and then changed her name to English rose (or englishrose) when she was still a member. She used to post a lot. Looks like she's guest posting under both of her old names.
