I noticed last month during my 10 day course, and it's happening again this month, but this stuff is making me so dry and thirsty. It could be coincidence as it's cold now so there's a fire. I can't remember if I had a fire burning last month during the course. I can't seem to drink enough water! Is it only me?

In my experience, YES - definitely more of a dry mouth than normal (I use Utro 100 x 12, vag-route every 6 or 7 weeks) - it does seem to be one of the (many) side effects (for some).
Maybe it's due to the Utro reducing the effect of estrogen systemically and drying out the membranes of the mouth, my eyes seem to get more itchy too. Who knows.
I read somewhere the Utro is a diuretic. Must research that again - it would explain all the visits to the loo - and often near misses, ugh!

I haven't noticed more frequent potty visits in the day. I've been blaming the extra one in the night on the glass of water I drink in bed to swallow the capsule. It's the dry skin and feeling of thirst that are bothering me. Good to know I'm not the only one!

I notice my eyes are more dry and gritty, especially in the evenings.

I know this is an old post but thought I'd add on rather than start a new one and see if anyone else is having this problem? The Utrogestan is drying my mouth and also down below is so dry I cannot dissolve vagifem. It's plump and healthy, so it thinking it's the utro drying below too

Yes it is drying and can make some ladies VA worse as told to me by a specialist.

As excess oestrogen causes water retention I would also bet it reduces that water and, as so strong, depletes too much.
Maybe it's a sign it's bringing down oestrogen too much so you need less?

maryJane that is exactly what seems to be happening. I have no burning or itching and my vagina looks healthy. I have noticed it has reduced saliva and the consultant confirmed it could, but when I mentioned vaginal dryness he said its estrogen. I think it's the utro that's causing it, otherwise the vagifem would help

Katia ....once my utrogestin is finished then it's okish again , whatever is ok for me . 😏

MAryjane, I'm taking it for 25 out of 28 days. I've only been on it a month, so I'm just figuring out what side effects are coming from what. It did seem to get a bit better at the end of the 3 days off but so hard to tell for certain with the bleed. Whe I first started the HRT, I wasn't this dry, but had stinging. That's gone, but the dry waxy feeling has now replaced it. How are you taking the utro? As a cycle? HRT is relatively new to me and when I joined I had so many symptoms that I thiught were from HRT, but now realise we're from stopping the pill and the HRT taking a while to get going.
