Title: Weekend tiredness
Post by: Joyce on January 17, 2016, 04:49:59 PM
Is this just me? Always more tired at weekends. I don't work, so it's not that. Sleep at night is hit or miss most nights. Recent blood tests didn't reveal anything untoward.

Do you 'lay in' at weekends but get up a different times in the week?

How is your diet on a Friday compared with the rest of the week?

Probably due to subtle changes on Thursdays/Fridays ………  ;)

Routine pretty much the same. Get up when I waken, but that depends on when I get to sleep, usually around 8.30.

Only difference is I don't cook on a Friday. Usually takeaway.

Adrenalin keeps you going all week, then you let go at the weekend?

Maybe there is something in the take-away menu that slows your metabolism?  I find chocolate makes my system sluggish.

I often feel exhausted when I have a day where I don't have much that has to be done - I think it is because you have to keep pushing yourself to keep going, and then when you don't have to any more, tiredness 'catches up' with you.  It's a bit like going down with a bug as soon as you go on holiday- you relax, and that's when the germs get you!

I think I'm sort of the same way. I'm usually super busy at work (preschool teacher for 1-3-year-olds) and I just keep going all day long. Usually it takes about 4-5 days off in a row for me to feel all rested up. A weekend is not long enough... That said, I've actually gotten quite a lot done this weekend :) !

And the problem with teaching is that your work is not done when the children go home! Then there's the demands of your home life. No wonder you need more than a weekend to rest.
