Hello all, Have just been prescribed Estriol Cream along side Vagifem for my VA. The Estriol cream is for the external parts. Just wondering how long it takes to work. Not a very patient person, but have been burning today. I started using it on Wednesday and have seen slight improvements. Have been to see a relative and I know that the sitting has aggravated that area. Sitting in my job does not help either. Might have to keep going a little longer with the Vagifem, which my Doctor says I can do. Not sure how much Estriol Cream to use, maybe I am not using enough. Thank you for any replies.

Hi Ms I used Estriol with Vagifem when my burning was at its zenith . I found it took a week or so to work . I used it internally but applied with my finger ( with the use of a mirror ) to make sure I applied it to my parts which were most in need which was mostly urethral areas My doc recommended a toothpasted sized squeeze, I used a large toothpasted size amount .
And as for sitting I found this aggravated it a lot, so I tended not to sit full on but sort of on my bottom (if you see what I mean)
Good luck xx Ss

Thank you for your reply. I will start using a larger amount of estriol cream and try to be more patient. ( wish I could be more patient.) When I previously had the burning like you say, in the urethral area it did take many weeks to subside. At least I now have the cream to use. Thanks again.
