Title: New to Hrt
Post by: Sweetscarlett on December 09, 2015, 12:39:53 PM
Hi I started a post a few days ago , as I was having very bad Va . I have been on vagifem for a few years , and period free for about 3 years . The lovely ladies on here helped me with their advise I saw my doctor who was  reluctant to prescribe full hrt, claiming it would not help with Va symptoms , which I found very upsetting . Nevertheless I managed to get a 3 month course of Elleste  duet Continue , which I will try .
So I will keep you posted , a bit nervous but hoping all will be resolved  :o

I'll be watching with interest to see how you get on - do let us know.
Maryjane posted a few days ago that she had seen a menopause specialist who says 5 per cent of us really just get VA and very badly, who had prescribed HRT for her. Can't remember the specialist's name suddenly - Dr Annie something. It was on a thread I started a couple of weeks ago about VA and local oestrogen if you want to find it, somewhere on the last page.

Thanks ancient runner , I have  already seen maryjane's thread ,very informative .I too suffer with no other menopausal symptoms, just constant burning . I have been referred to a gyno which could take months , so in the interim I shall see how  this systematic Hrt does
.
I appreciate your reply , it's nice to know I'm not alone in this
X :P :P

I am day five of sandrena 1mg and vagifem xs5 a week. Dr Annie Evans ancient runner. It's defo doing something already things I didn't realise where a problem which fits with what Dr Annie Evans says ladies like us it is to do with collagen or the lack of at our times of life.

My itchy eyes have gone. My itchy shins have gone. The last two night I haven't needed to get up and P. Vaginal lubrication is returning. My episiotomie scars times three are more elastic again, I ache less, my internal organs feel higher. My urethra is pink not red. So watch this space.

Down side I could eat my own leg ( starving ) but I can keep that in check.

Our faces drop, our boobs, our knees ( all collagen ) Dr A said even if we don't have an official prolapse we will have prolapses of the front and back vaginal walls why wouldn't we everything else is going south however hard we try, so it all starts rubbing and touching irritates the nerves etc, and vagifem for some just doesn't do enough to bring the elasticity etc back and only systemic does this, and it's for life not just three months if it's going to help. Must say all the patients I who have seen her are all prescribed transdermal not pill or patch. Think she goes along the lines of Prof Studd, she has dealing with hormones for 25 years.
