Had Mirena Coil fitted on 29 September as Consultant & GP said it would help with my heavy bleeding. Since having it fitted, I've bled every day - not heavy, but a nuisance! GP did say taking Transexamic acid tablets would help but I don't think the flow is heavy enough to justify taking them?
Has anyone had a similar experience to me? Am beginning to think things might have backfired slightly!

Hi elsie001
It is early days yet.
Having the mirena fitted won't stop your bleeding straight away.
It may take a few months until it settles down.
I think I bled for around 4-6 and I haven't had anything since.
I'm now on my 2nd mirena and have had this one for 3 years.
Hope this helps.
X :)

You're welcome elsie001 ;)

Were you bleeding every day before elsie001? If it isn't much then as the others say this should settle. Are you taking oestrogen as well or is it just to stop bleeding from your own cycle?

Hi Hurdity, no I wasn't bleeding every day before having the coil fitted....periods were just heavy/flooding for a few days. I'm not taking Oestrogen as it's just to reduce the bleeding.
