I really bashed my upper arm on the corner of a door so was expecting a bruise which I got, but in past 2 weeks it has not improved one bit. I don't bruise easily so not something I get often and cannot remember if its normal for a bruise to take so long to start to improve. Before I start worrying about leukemia etc ::) ::)
as I am prone to do, I thought I would ask on here.

Any bruise I get takes longer to go now too. I think it's just an age thing to be honest.
Have you tried rubbing arnica on it, I find doing that encourages them to go a bit quicker.

Any bruises I get now last for ages. I agree with HB it's another of getting older.

The skin thins as we age = bruising which can remain for longer. When I was having radiation treatment any cuts took longer to heal (instead of within 24 hours) so it can be a sign that the immune system inn't working properly. If the bruise remains for another week I would show it to your GP!

Does anyone find a bruise but can't remember how they acquired it?

ALL the time... ;) I can rarely remember how I got a bruise, actually....

I often sustain a knock and think "I won't remember you when you're a bruise" ::)

I do but my blood platelet level is at the bottom end of normal as a side effect of Tegretol. It is checked regularly.

I've got a bruise on my leg just now, still can't remember acquiring it. Not budging in a hurry.

Has anyone had to have blood thinning injections in the stomach? I had to have them for six months and have never seen such bruises! My tummy - looked like a map of the world! I stopped the injections over a month ago and some of the bruises are still there but very faint.

My husband is insulin dependant diabetic and injects into his tummy up to 6 times a day. Sometimes he gets very spectacular bruising if he hits a blood vessel.
My arm bruise is just a faint shadow now.

My hubby is exactly the same. He uses different sites, tummy and upper thigh and has lovely little bruises all over depending like you say if he hits a blood vessel. They don't actually hurt though :)
