Title: Help please - prepack c 2 years
Post by: Harana on October 30, 2015, 03:26:15 PM
Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice?

I'm 43 and been on prempack c for 2 years. I went to the Gp on Tuesday and explained my form wasn't good at all :( I'm very anxious, shouty, muddled and generally not happy. She did a blood test and wanted to rule out thyroid, b12 etc before messing with tablets. She then mentioned people are generally only on prempack c with a monthly bleed for about a year - I feel as bad as I did 2 years ago is it possible that the Hrt is out of balance? Gp mentioned going to a non bleed hrt phoned today to get another appointment. Feeling very confused and miserable. I teach full time and have a 10 and 11 year old and I know half term has been miserable for everyone :( thanks in advance x

Good idea for the GP to arrange blood tests.  There are several types of HRT and if 1 isn't easing symptoms, then maybe it's time to change.

Hi, there are all different types and different strengths of HRT. It maybe that you need to up the dose as our hormones can fluctuate over time. If you felt good before there is no reason why you wont again. Have a look on this site on the drop down menu regarding the different types of HRT and familiarise yourself.
In the mean time, take things easy and try not to panic. it will take time, but after ruling out all other possibilities for the symptoms then a new HRT should help in the long run.

Hi, was in a rush yesterday - sorry.
On reading your post again , your GP suggesting you go on a non bleed HRT ? Normally you shouldn't go on a non bleed HRT until you have stopped your periods for at least a year or are over the age of 53ish I think. So - someone correct me if I am wrong but you should be on an HRT with a monthly bleed at 43yrs.

Perhaps suggest going on Femosten 2/10 which is a kinder HRT than Prempac in terms of side effects.

Stress can play a major part in how we feel during the peri/ menopause .

Also watch doctor Annie Evans post on UTube , just type in Annie Evans Menopause lecture and sit back and watch , it's in 3 parts and explains things well.

Anxious, muddled - you have described exactly how we have all felt in varying degrees - a mare isn't it?

I am sure others will be along to give you more support and advice .

Also, as long as your children know you love them and that mummy is just feeling a little out of sorts - nothing to do with them then they will cope, I am sure.

Any way , good luck !
