We've celebrated our Ruby last month  ;).  We are treating each other to a model by an artist who lives in Brighton who I met via a TV programme  ::) [long story short] which is being finely honed as I type.

:congrats: ……. depends on how much you want to spend; does he have hobbies or is he interested in trying something new, i.e. clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing? a weekend away ………. I don't actually like pearls or rubies  ;D I'm a diamond girl.  So the cards were appropriate [we spent our Pearl anniversary in Dornie, Scotland] ……

Thank you Dazned and Dyan. CLKD we are going to Wales for a week but want to get him some thing he can open, your model has given me an idea. He has looked at art work in the past so a nice painting might be an idea.

Let him give you the pearls & you get him something you know he'll like. I got black coral & silver jewellery for ours. I'm not overly keen on pearls. But having been to the pearl shops in the Channel Islands, they do come in many colours. I got one a couple of years back which was blueish black.

Where abouts in Wales?  Take your wellies  ;D

You might find something suitable in an antique shop of which there are few in Wales  ::) [or we would have moved back] …… I buy most of my jewellery via auctions or antique galleries, always asking for discount  ;)

Many Congratulations.

These days there are modern equivalents of the wedding anniversary gifts and the site I just googled reckons it's diamonds for the 30th - hmmmm, not sure that helps. They also say diamond for 60th, 80th and 85th!

You could plant something in the garden for the two of you - there is a clematis I think called Rose Pearl or a shrub Choisya Aztec Pearl.

Shrubs are a good idea as we have just removed some old ones and we are just in the middle of replanning. We had a miniature tree that has died and I wanted some thing special to replace it. Thank you.

Bramble that sounds great - now if I had more space [Mum gave us a ruby coloured small flowered dahlia as part of our gift  ;)]

Tintern - we went there *many* years ago and it was sunny that day …….. it's vague, in the back of my mind  :-\
When do you travel?

Was Sunday 'the Day'?

Yes Sunday was the day.Normally I can distract myself or if I feel bad I just make the decision not to go and installing feel better, but Sunday I just felt so pressured. Although being on here really did help and once at the resturant and talking I did enjoy it so glad I went.

We make our plans daily once we get up. Today we went to a lovely nation trust house and gardens another long walk all around the gardens and park lands. Found another nice pub for lunch and now sitting in the sun back at our cottage.

Tredegar house. Beautiful house and really interesting.

Could you see much?  The NT has a nasty habit of not allowing curtains to be opened: we went to Snowshill Manor recently and needed a torch to see stuff  >:(

Are you Members?  We re-joined 2 years ago at Waddeston Manor …...

Yes all the curtains were open, have been in a few places that have had them closed and very dark. As the house was still lived in unroll the 1950s there wasn't to much original furniture to protect.yes we have been members for a year now and we will rejoin next year.
