Anyone else driven nuts by itchy labels at the neck of new tops etc? The first thing I do if I buy something new is cut the label out because I know that it'll itch. What do they make these things from? Have they invented a particularly itchy fabric just for labels? And why is the label sewn in so well that it's really difficult to unpick even though the side-seam unravelled on the second wearing?

I have had this in some garments. Sometimes it is the label or occasionally the seams etc. are sewn with 'wire' which can be itchy.

My step father wore all underwear inside out because of uncomfortable seams and labels. He had been doing that....I was told since the 1940s ;D
It's bra straps that annoy me ....the bit where you adjust them...the ring thing....always rubs.

What's a 'bra :P

I cut labels off all the time these days as they drive me insane! Even the ones in side seams get the chop, especially those hard almost paper type ones. Labels in underwear have me clawing myself to bits if I don't remove them.

Then on wash day you stand looking at said item trying to remember if you can tumble dry it.

Oh no, don't get me started on labels! I hate the rotten things, especially when they are stitched with that wirey thread, it's so sharp
I do have to cut them out before I can wear the item. Yes, in underwear :bang: (http://:bang:) the labels always get me itching. Trouble is I have cut the label off my bras and can't for the life of me remember the size! It changed when I lost weight and took me ages to find the right size bra. Now I have to do it all again as need new ones.
And why in the lovely delicate chiffon scarf do they attach a large bright white label that cannot be cut out without ruining the scarf! Madness.
