Has anyone noticed a change in how their sweat smells since starting HRT? And would this be related to hormonal changes?
Just curious. I've noticed - particularly with a night shirt that I wear in bed - that the sweat on my clothes seems to smell quite distinctive - in a way that I never noticed before taking HRT and all the menopausal stuff flaring up. I've had to wash my clothes more frequently because of it.
Ironically, I can't use antiperspirant under my arms anymore (although I don't tend to sweat much there anyway) as whatever brand I try (and I've tried a couple of unscented gentle brands) the skin just gets really irritated. But I notice that I seem to sweat more on the back of my shoulders and the distinct smell of that sweat gets transferred onto my clothing.

Before starting HRT I had noticed a change in smell, not that I sweat much at all but occasionally , occasionally still happens so suspect its just generally change in hormones. I use Weleda Sage which works well but not if you are very sweaty.

I haven't noticed a change in my sweat, but I have seriously noticed a strong change in the smell of my pee so maybe this is yet another little wrinkle in the menopause symptom book :D

We did have a thread running on this....CLKD where are you ;D....I'm sure she will bump it for you.
Yes things in general smell different....although if your pee smells very strong GM it might be worth while having it tested as some infections can cause this.
