Have a look in the garden centres to see if they are on sale.  It may be too late now.  We have been pulling ours for 3/4 weeks, grown in bags on the patio.

I think if you plant a specific variety now they will be ready for C.mas lunch  ;)

If you look on the Buckingham Garden web-site you may find what is available to plant and when.  Or buy some and plant them to see what happens?

There are so many varieties available!

You can get autumn potatoes in most garden centres now to plant in late summer, early autumn.

We have tried them and every single time have lost them to potatoe blight. Hopefully you will have more luck.

I went to The Chelsea Flower Show many years ago and a Company were growing every veg. in hanging baskets: trailing tomatoes, chillies, string beans, French beans, peas ……… takes a lot of watering though!

It was in May I think.

There are lots of places online too. Marshals is one and Unwins another. You can register on both websites and they will send you reminders of what's available and when. I've used both companies and they were both good.

Once they are slavered with hot butter it don't really matter.  Pink Fir Apple hold their shape regardless of what is done to them  ::)
