When I was 16 my sister decided it was a good idea to shave off my eyebrows and draw them on with a pencil (popular at that time)
They have never grown back and I hate that I have to draw them on every day
someone suggested tattoo's, but I would be so worried about ending up like a clown :o (http://:o)
Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution?
I have a few hairs, but very sporadic, no shape
Whats the powder your daughter used HB? I have not heard of that

It was the Bare Minerals one PN
Not sure how it would work if you have no eyebrows at all but it's a much softer look than a pencil and is put on with a tiny brush.

I would go to a very good salon or tattoo parlour and ask for advice. Tatooes can look good but need to be done with care so that the face doesn't have a constantly surprised look. We have a young couple who run a parlour and will give advice with a smile.

Good idea CLKD, not sure if we have anything around here. I also worry that this is such a permanent route and won't 'age' with me ::) (http://::))

Around here is where exactly? ;) some hairdressing salons do nails, tattooing etc., waxing, threading etc. ::)

An old friend of the forum sent me this for you PN
It's a product called Wunderbrow.
"WUNDERBROW contains an exclusive blend of hair-like fibers, combined with specifically treated pigments designed to fasten onto skin and hair. This Hair Fiber Complex is then fused into our PermaFix Gel to create a flexible matrix, locking the natural color and hairs onto our brows. The results are natural looking, perfectly shaped eyebrows that last for days. Traditional brow pencils, powders can be hard to apply, have multiple steps, can lock unnatural and don't stay in place or last throughout the day. Some women are so desperate to brows they go to the extreme of "eyebrow tattooing." This process certainly lasts but often looks unnatural, is painful and expensive. WUNDERBROW is a new solution which allows women to easily fill, define and shape their brows with natural looking color that lasts until they decide to take it off. WUNDERBROW gives the convenience of the perfect brow, at home, and in one easy step"
Here is a link.

Ooh, now I wonder who that could be ::) (http://::))
Please say thank you from me. It certainly looks interesting. Would you mind asking if she has actually used it?

:thankyou: will look for it in the store if I can remember the name …… mine are so un-even after threading in Jan. :-\

Son's fiancé gets hers done periodically, using something similar. She does it because she has a habit of pulling hers out when anxious. Hers were very thin previously.
-
Trixo - something? it's common, eye-brow/lash pulling ::)
-
You can get it on Amazon.
I will PN ;)
I did over pluck a bit when I was younger so now they are a bit thin at the ends but elsewhere is fine. Might give it a go myself.
I do miss that old member ....she was a fund of very useful knowledge

I have very fair and thin eyebrows so I've spent my entire life pencilling and tinting my brows. (btw - a tip I learned for ladies who pencil is to always use a baby's toothbrush after pencilling to soften the line).
About 18 months ago I decided to take the plunge and have them tattooed, and I was overjoyed with the result. It was wonderful to get up in the morning and actually have eyebrows!!! If you go to someone with good qualifications and experience, they will make sure they discuss colour, shape etc before the procedure, and will draw the brows on first so you know exactly what they will look like. They will look a bit darker when they are first done, but they do lighten up over a month or so. The healing process is very minimal and provided they constantly use numbing cream during the procedure there is very little to no pain.
However, they definitely aren't permanent, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Depending on your skin type, cosmetic tattoos will only last from 1-5 years, because it's a different kind of tattooing to the regular types. For the conspiracy theorists (I'll put my hand up), maybe this is a rip-off designed for us vain women so they can constantly keep making money out us. Maybe there is no reason why they can't be made more permanent - I don't know.
However, the advantage of course is that you're not going to be stuck with it for the rest of your life, and the disadvantage is that you will need to keep getting it done.
My skin type is slightly oily on my forehead, and she told me mine would probably only last 12-18 months, and she was right. It's now 18 months since I had it done and all the tattooing is practically gone. I would be more than happy to get it done again, but it's very expensive, so I'm currently looking around and comparing prices.

Wash out then which has advantages if a) 1 is allergic to the ink and b) if 1 doesn't want the same look, c) 1 wants a different colour ;). Bet it did hurt though :-X ……
-
Nope it doesn't hurt at all because they use a numbing cream. It was actually almost relaxing to have it done.
-
My eyebrows are thin probably owing to over plucking in the 70s. I can't get worked up about it to be honest - my fringe covers most of them anyway.
-
I guess eyebrows are unimportant when you have all you have to cope with GH

I did ask our old member if she had used the eyebrow thingy. The answer was not yet but she has bought it and will let me know.
Have you decided what to try PN

Mine have gone so grey and fine I wondered where mine were and looked thin. I went to a beauty salon near me and they do HD Brows, so they tinted every hair brow and suddenly I had loads, they were waxed and clipped and my brows look fabulous, love them. From looking like nothing to suddenly having some it was great
