I have swollen joints and sort of bony spurs on a lot of my joints.
I can cope with this but recently something strange is going on and I wondered if anyone else has this.
It's my middle finger on my right hand. Just under the first joint I have a little lump that comes and goes. It just seems to literally pop up. I can feel it under the skin and it's very painful. It happens at random times and for no reason. I was changing mothers bed today and I actually felt it pop. Then my finger swells up for a few hours and I can't bend it.
Any ideas as to what it is. I've never mentioned to my GP the state of my hands as my sister has the same and has been told it's an age thing and nothing can be done so there doesn't seem much point.

Ganglion in the tendon? on the top of the finger (looking at the middle finger R hand as I type ::) ).

Maybe, I've had one on my wrist before.
Off for a Google

;D Did you mean a Google or a bathroom visit :P
Dr Google won't help!

Might tell me if where I've got this is possible for a ganglion.
It's not like an illness so I won't scare myself ;)

The Family Bible is the best! Was it a finger then Honeybun …….

Might be a little one but I'm not sure. It comes and goes a lot. I had a big one on my wrist and hubby bashed it and it burst it.
I keep rubbing this one and it does go, only to return.
Hey ho the joys of getting older ::)

Ganglia aren't age related you may be pleased to know ;)

My fingers get quite sore & stiff from time to time. I've had a ganglion in my left wrist for years, it's barely noticeable nowadays though as it has gradually shrunk. Mine never "popped" though. Feels much harder than that.

I think I have RSI - I've been doing NintendoDS almost constantly for over a year :-\. Both wrists ache. I also seem to have a lump in my R wrist ? ganglion. When I press it the back of my hand hurts :-\. Anyone have a spare Bible ? :-\

My forefinger is so misshapen with arthritis,it's embarrassing and on my middle finger I have myxoid cysts, guess my hand cream advertising days are over :-\

We could have made a fortune years ago - except I bit my nails ::) and I've never wanted my feet on show due to hairy legs ;D

My mum had exactly the same,I wonder if there's any surgery for it,I'm always trying to hide my fingers,if I point at something, I use my pinky,it's still beautiful ;D

Ganglia can certainly be removed if the slapping with the family Bible doesn't work ::)

I don't know anything about ganglions, but I'm taking high strength turmeric to help with knee and shoulder pain, which it has got rid of after about 6 weeks. 🙂 I realised that the slight stiffness in my finger joints has gone too. I bought Nature's Best 20,000mg turmeric tablets. I only buy my supplements from them because they guarantee purity and potency. Many brands don't contain the quantity the label says, and can be made in China and packaged here, and legally sold as made in Britain. 🙄 Turmeric is anti inflammatory, and as inflammation is the cause of many/most chronic health problems, I intend to take it long term. It's been one of the most beneficial things I've taken.

I've just started taking them harmony :)

Turmeric in it's raw state stains ;D - it's added to lots of curry recipes.
