Title: Bleeding with Mirena Coil
Post by: aseamark on July 01, 2015, 01:53:08 PM
Ladies
I have a Mirena Coil which had been in for over 2 years. In combination with patch for HRT.
Over the past 2-3 months I have been having a bleed. Not a proper period bleed but nevertheless a bleed on wiping with definite period pains.

Should I be concerned as this is my second coil and this hasn't happened previously.
I am 52.

I had this on occasion.   I'm afraid it is one or the side effects of the Mirena - I think it happens when the womb lignin has built up too much. DG x

Hi aseamark,

It's very disconcerting when something like this happens and quite normal to be worried . The coil as Dancinggirl says can cause this to happen. I would make an appointment with your GP to put your mind at rest. It is probably nothing to be concerned about. I am sure you will feel better once you see your GP.
