Title: prolonged bleeding
Post by: toffeecushion on June 26, 2015, 07:42:39 PM
My periods have been getting further apart but the bleeding has been lasting longer, 4 weeks last time and 2 weeks and counting this time.  Can anyone tell me what causes the longer bleed?  Is it less estrogen,  too much estrogen or is is caused by progesterone?

Sorry, I can't help but just wanted to say sorry as I know long bleeds can really get you down.  Hope it stops soon.

When this happened to me I assumed it was because of my fibroids but the doctor said she believed it was hormones that were responsible not sure if that was too much or not enough of the other. I envy those whose period just gets lighter and lighter and eventually goes away unfortunately many of us get just the opposite. Just make sure you are not anemic Toffee and that it doesn't go on for too long.
