Morning ladies
My doctor has increased my Italian dose from 30 to 40mg, she said I could feel worse before I feel better, I don't want to feel worse, does anybody know a way round this? My other option is to come down from the citalopram and try neutralize, never used this but was told it's good for anxiety.
Thanks
Shellb

Hi Shellb, my GP said she didn't want me to take a higher dose of citalopram than 20mg because of some recent research. Not sure what though. Sorry to not be of much help. I would be interested to hear how you get on if you change to the other meds. ::)

I was told that when I first started on them, but to stick with it. I felt nauseous & a bit jangly for couple of weeks, but have been absolutely fine ever since. Maybe that's what she meant.

Shelib I think what your Dr meant is that your body might go through a process of adjustment and in that period you can get side effects which will make you feel worse but if you stick with it, you'll start to feel better. If Citalopram suits you already, you might find that you might not notice much in the way of side effects? I don't know but I have heard from people who've taken it that it does need a bit of adjustment at the beginning but then they feel better. Whatever you do, do be careful with it as it's one of those ones that you have to be very careful when you're adjusting the dose and decreasing it because of the length of time it takes to leave your system.

I had no problems with 20mg but didn't have to take anything higher. I would stick with it!
