Hello everyone
Its quite a while since I sent a message but wanted to share some wonderful news about my sister.
She was diagnosed with cancer of the colon five years ago, a very rare form of cancer that spread
through her blood stream to her ovaries and womb. Radical surgery followed and intensive chemo
for several months.
I had some wonderful messages of support off people here when she was first diagnosed and I never
dreamt at the time that I would be writing to tell you that she's now been given the all clear after five years
of six monthly scans :) :)

Hello everyone
Thank you all for your good wishes.
No celebration planned as such Freda just time spent with family. My sister has coped with
the whole process in a very calm, matter of fact way ( I was the one fretting, worrying,
panicking, asking endless questions and getting frustrated when no answers were forthcoming )
My mum has Alzheimer's and we decided not to tell her at the time as it would have meant I was repeating
it to her everyday!! She did know that my sister was in hospital for a hysterectomy ( which was a half truth! )
and I took her with me to visit her. Without sounding too sentimental, part of me wishes my mum did
know because she would have been so proud with how well my sister has coped.

What wonderful news. Yes, it's sad your Mum could not have been part of your sister's and your journey through the last 5 years, but you know she would have been as proud of you both. Sometimes it can be harder to be the supportive one, rather than the one going through illness and treatment. Well done you.
