Title: Vitamin D is Rising
Post by: toffeecushion on May 29, 2015, 04:17:10 PM
Had another blood test yesterday and after only taking less than half the dose they wanted me to my vitamin D has risen from 18 to 32 so I am pleased about that.  My ferritin was 8.1 when they tested me 6 weeks ago and since then I have had a heavy period lasting 4 weeks.  I have been taking an over the counter iron supplement (only 14mg) and yesterday it had risen to 9.8.  I asked the receptionist about my hemoglobin and she said it was 24, I assume she read the results for my mean corpuscular hemoglobin instead of just hemoglobin.  I phoned back to check as 24 would be very low for hemoglobin and it is 102, so on the a little on the low side.  But my worry now is that the doctor has asked to see me but her next appointment isn't for 2 weeks.  So I now have 2 weeks to think all sorts of things.
