Title: How much should Femoston cost?
Post by: cyclinggeek on May 23, 2015, 04:43:01 PM
I've just started Femoston 2/10 and was very surprised to be told that it counts as a double proscription and charged £16 for 3 months-worth?

Is this right or was I done?

Unfortunately hrt that has both oestrogen and progesterone costs a double prescription charge as it is classified as two medicines. Bit of a con as you cannot remove either from the tablet or patch etc. It is more cost effective If the gp can prescribe 6 months worth on one script.
