Title: Bed Hair
Post by: honeybun on April 17, 2015, 08:13:09 PM
Who wakes up with perfect hair and if you do, how do you do it.

Increasingly in the mornings I look as if I have been plugged into the mains and given a thousand volts.
It's scary, I actually scare myself.  :o

Any answers except for a hat  ;D

Hi there ladies

I could be that one you hate!!! my hair is shoulder length and blond......dyed a nice blond to hide the grey.

I wake up and brush, wash it every other day, gets dyed around every 10 weeks and I never straighten it ...well unless a really special occasion.

The other day, I washed and dried before work and forgot to brush it through, agg remembered at work and asked does it look ok??? girls thought I had gone mad cos it looked fine !!!

Sorry , have always had kinda good hair

Mine is dreadful in the morning. Maybe once a year it stays put.

My daughter puts a hairband on at night. Her hair isn't great first thing, but much better than mine.

My hair just looks a bit flattened after a night's sleep - wish it was a bit wilder!   Looks much better after I've bent over, brushed it towards the ground, stood up and tossed it all back.

Sometimes I wake up and can't believe how neat my hair is, other mornings I look like Camilla Parker Bowles  :'(

 :D :D :D

I have very fine baby hair but a lot of it - although lately its receding around the hairline  :(  and read about the benefit of sleeping
on a silk pillowcase. I decided to treat myself and its really helped with the Marc Bolan morning look and on another plus note it
is lovely and cool to sleep on. When I wash it and have a night off I really notice the difference, the main thing I find is how hot
on my head the pillow feels without the silk.  I paid £40 for mine and I think its worth every penny.  Hankering for a whole silk set now ;D

If I put products on it after I've washed it at night it's fine.  If I don't it's as flat as a pancake.

Snap littleminnie - I could start a shop with the amount of volumising products in my cupboard!  Im almost what you would call
a 'collector'  if you have found a good one let me know! I like the Armargan Styling gel, makes the hair a bit crispy but gives a lot
of ooomph

  you lot have got too much time on your hands  ::)

I get out of bed, dress, wash, have breakfast - if I'm on my way to town I might glance into the car windows as I get in - I might then decide that a comb through my hair is a good idea …….. otherwise  ;D

My hair looks mostly flat but with "bottle brush" sticky out bits at the end.
Not a good look - OH thinks it looks ok, but then follows it up by asking where his glasses are  ::)

 ;D ;D

I think my hubby says I look good because he can't be bothered waiting for me to wear something different. Odd exception when he says I look really nice and I know he means it!  ;D

Oh, I don't know, CLKD - I think it's always good, at any age, to be like the French and be ready for "the look"!   ::)

My hair is 50% thinner than it was and the natural waves don't stay in place now as there is no longer the weight there to hold them so it can be quite fly away and bitty.  I don't like it anyway since it went thin.

I have a good product called Sebastian Potion 9, it can be used wet or dry and keeps the frizz down and stops it blowing about.

And don't get me started on static.

I love this forum, it always makes me feel a bit normal  :)

My grandfather was French....does that count  ;D.  Maybe if it had been my grandmother, but she was Welsh. Are they known for elegance, about as much as the Scots  ::)

I'm on John Freida luxurious volume at the moment.
I enjoy buying new products and trying them.

Hmm - don't think the Welsh are renowned for their elegance  ::)

HB was the French grandfather on your mum's or dad's side?
Suspect the mums side might have a stronger influence.

Cerafill Defy was used as a shampoo I think by the makeover team on This Morning this week on a post menopause lady, I'm sure they said it adds volume

Dads side Limpy.

Grandfather on mothers side was a dour Scotsman who said about half a dozen words to me in my life. And I wonder where my mother gets her awkwardness from  ;D

Think the elegant gene skipped me and hit my daughter  ::)

Ah - your French grandad being on your dads side might be the reason HB.
I've been told many genetic tendencies are transmitted down the maternal line - via the mitochondrial DNA.

I rub a little argan oil through it at nighttime and it looks fine in morning, with no oil on it looks a bit wild old womanish,

Ha ha this made me smile, can totally relate - my hair is naturally curly so I keep it short - but in the morning I look like a hedgehog - can't always be bothered to wash it every day so end up spraying it with water to make it lie down.  Makes me think of my grandmother and her hair nets - she used to use two - double bagged as she put it - to keep her hair "just so".  Perhaps hairnets are the answer  :o

Hairnets!  ;D   You got those fine hairnets which my grandmother wore or the heavy duty string vest type ones. My mum wore the latter every night.  I can imagine hubby's face if I wore one of those to bed.  ;D
