When I first joined this forum, I remember watching documentary he did about the possibility of doing to Dignatas when it all got to much for him. We discussed it on here. He died at home.

Such a shame.

I must admit I wondered if he had gone to Dignitas.

He was a patron for Dignity in Dying - I hope he achieved it for himself after all the work he put in to making it more accessible for others. A sad day.

I was so sad to hear he'd gone - I so admired his bravery in sharing his experience of Alzhiemer's and this has done so much good.  I really hope he had a good end.  I suspect he had done a really good end of life plan and, being at home, this would have been easier to follow.  Though they have said he didn't end his own life I expect there were clear instructions not to prolong his life.
I hope he has paved the way for us all to have more choice about how we find that dignified end.
He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of literature - such a character and genius.

He passed away with his family with him and his cat on the bed.

A peaceful end I hope.

What a courageous man.

I saw his hat once, hurrying through Salisbury  ::) and I didn't want to draw attention to myself but was trying to get DH to turn round ……. I was like a goldfish trying to remember TP's name - he had a minder with him and they were chatting away.  DH saw his back, I think  :-\

Love the idea that his cat was with him  ;) and DH has, this weekend, read another book of his which had him chuckling away  ::)
