Hi
I am 56, and use Gynest, but when removing the applicator after I have applied it, I notice it smells of stale urine, not overpoweringly but not pleasant. I have just finished a 7 day Bioactiv course in case I had bacterial vaginosis, (have had it in the past), just in case it was that, but the applicator still smelt of stale (not fresh) urine. Could there be a reason for this? Don't think it's the Gynest as that is odourless, and when I used a lubricant, and didn't use Gynest the smell was still the same. Can't face going to the GP as I think she is fed up with my issues around menopause, and I don't want to seem a "hypochondriac"! :-\

Hi and welcome Zoe Zebra
Oh the joys of the meno!!!! I think it is quite normal for the odour around our intimate area to change when the meno hits. Even with systemic and/or local oestrogen it is difficult to keep the flora balance right and I'm afraid most of us will get some urine that trickles around the area so this can give that stale smell.
I wouldn't worry as long as you are not itchy or sore. DG x

Body odour in general changes.
CLKD did have a topic on it but I can't remember what it was called. She will be along soon hopefully as it was talked about in detail and it seems to be very common.
Don't you just love this getting older rubbish.

What does bump mean Honeybun?

Bumped is when a thread has not been current so is found and then it's for all to see again ;)

I have noticed a definite change in smell in the nether regions. I shower every day yet by days end I do not like the strong odour that can waft up when I undress. Much stronger than it ever used to be. Not nice
-
It does go again.
-
I have smelt 'different' down there since starting HRT. I am seriously considering stopping it.
-
Is it a nasty odour? DH tells me he can't smell any difference, either under my arms or elsewhere ;)
-
It is certainly noticeable, kind of musky sometimes. I was never aware of any smell before.
-
Musky is, apparently, attractive :o :-X - it is after all, the basis of most perfumes from Centuries down - from the Musk Ox ;)
-
It will go away eventually - I noticed I was smelling YUK last year and it has got much better the past couple of weeks.
-
Wish it would hurry up and go :'( I don't like people coming near me at work anymore.
-
I doubt if they notice I do remember M in L having a 'smell' and assumed it was age related.
-
Nooooo!!! I don't want an age-related MIL smell :'( :'(
-
It's OK - it doesn't last for long ….. and tuff …….. people can always move away ;)
