Title: Wouldn't it be nice
Post by: honeybun on March 02, 2015, 07:50:33 PM
To open a drawer and have clean ironed clothes.
To have fresh sheets on your bed
To sit down to a nicely cooked meal
To have a clean bathroom and fresh towels
To have a hoovered and dusted house

And not have to participate in any of the above.

Oh to be a....MAN

Just thought what I had done today.....and felt resentful.

Hubby kept following me around asking what he could do.....how about opening your eyes and figuring it out for yourself  :hotflash:

Ooo just had to get that off my chest  ;D

;D   â€¦â€¦.. mine does that.  Goes around with his eyes half shut he does  :D

He wields the hoovery-thingy without me asking, usually when I'm about to do something in that particular room/s  ::) ……… he would never consider stripping the bed, wiping down the work-suraces [we had *that* conversation yesterday  >:(], nor clean the bathroom - I love doing that however ………

And then I have to go to another house and start all over again..

Think I may have to go on strike.

Sometime soon.  ::)

Come down here for a rest  ;) ……… feet up, fire lit ……… plenty of places to walk the dog ……. shopping opportunities …. but you need to take us as you find us, that is: if you can find us at home  ;D

I've let things slip I'm afraid. Since working more hours the house gets dusted and hoovered once a week. The ironing is a bit hit and miss. If someone wants something that's still in the ironing basket then they have to do it themselves. Being out of action in the summer made me realise just how much I did in the house and how much didn't get done while I couldn't do it because husband son couldn't be bothered and I discovered that the house didn't fall down and we didn't all die of grubby windows or not-so-clean-kitchen-floor-disease. As my youngest son who is still living at home said "Mum doesn't it make you wonder why you've wasted all that time cleaning and stuff?" and "Mum you women really do make work for yourselves".  It is nice, though, when everything is clean and tidy but like you honeyb I resent my time spent doing it now - life really is too short - and so I don't!

I so wish I could do a bit more of that  ::)

Just seems to happen although I don't do nearly as much as I used to do.

It gets on my nerves at time especially when I have my mother bending my ear about what she wants done....such as taking all the cushions off her chairs and sofa and hoovering underneath, and moving her bed and hoovering that. Not to mention her telling me I don't cook her much anymore....errr...just every single dinner she has.

Is it any wonder I get p***d off sometimes.

Ok I will relax and breath now  ::)

But now I 've managed to sort food shop online at least can get food in ! ;D

Hope to try to actually go to supermarket tomorrow if I feel up to it  :)

I sometimes pop into the pub early evening - around 6ish - where it's full of guys all having a pint on their way home to partners who will have their meal ready for them even though they've all worked a full day themselves. I've often said "Wish I had a wife..." which is met with much hilarity. They have no idea!

I reckon a man is only as bad as his wife/partner lets him get away with!

But we can't change them however much we try.  We can seduce and encourage ……. some things DH didn't do he will now, i.e. phoning if he is likely to be later than planned …….. OR ELSE  :kick:  ;D

Mine changes the bed and cooks.  I shop, clean, wash, iron. We share garden and car chores.

we share generally - right now he's laying a fire in the grate, laundry is going round and he will Hoover our bed this afternoon - if I remind him  ;) - but he doesn't put things back, he will move the bird food sacks from in front of the garage door, go in for tools, shut garage door and get on ………. then I go back in and trip over the sacks  :-X

mine is like that he will do things eventually if i ask, But he never puts anything away ever whatever he uses stays out either on his desk or on worktops in the kitchen, there is a printer sitting in the kitchen been there for 4 days now which he is going to take for repair and it drives me nuts,  i hate clutter dont mind a bit of dust but stuff left out  :cuss:

Have to say mine is tidy. Never leaves a mess anywhere ever. He even rinses out the basin after a shave and dries the shower every morning.
However...he never sees dust, or a toilet that needs cleaning or a carpet that could do with a Hoover. And as for a washing machine..... ;D

As good as my OH is, he has never (and I dont think will start now) taken things out of a kitchen drawer or cupboard and cleaned it out.  Don't think he even notices when I do it.

I wonder how that works? I have three sons all brought up exactly the same but all very different when it comes to how they behave housework wise? I still reckon it's more what their partners let them get away with  ;D

To make things even more confusing my son is tidy and always clears up after himself. My daughter leaves a trail of devastation wherever she goes.
Both brought up the same and asked to do the same chores when younger.

Personalities I guess.

It would be absolutely blooming fantastic if my hubby took all his books from work, back to his work. There are a pile on chest of drawers, another pile which get moved from computer chair to bed & back again. Another lot sit in front of computer & to top it all off another pile on the floor. It's not a bedroom we have, but a library! I've asked, but get told he needs them in order to work from home. But he's supposed to be P/T. I no longer dust his stuff, he can do it himself!!!

CG - Best tell him it's well known that the bedroom is for sleeping, not for learning.
Well, certainly not for work related things anyway  8)
Seriously - the bedroom should be for sleeping

I don't care - as long as DH comes home to me  ;) - safely  :-*

I gave him a gentle reminder tonight. Asked if he could find somewhere else to put the books. I haven't looked yet! I've got used to computer being in the bedroom over the years as it was only suitable place when kids were young for him to do his Uni studies in peace. However, the books do my head in. I can't sleep in a hubble, though compared to DDs when we visit, our bedroom is a palace.  ::)

Our rooms are huge.  Well, they were until we filled them with 'stuff'  ;) …….

we have lots of 'stuff' and when i decide on a clearout most of the 'stuff' gets put back, how do that work  :-\
Title: Re: Wouldn't it be nice
Post by: CLKD on March 06, 2015, 05:11:37 PM
;D ……….. sentiment in my case  ::) or because the books are 'still to be read' ……….
