My partner has just turned 50 and I have just discovered I am having early menopause at 45 - I am not particularly a 'fan' of Mariella Frostrup but enjoy reading how she negotiates certain things in life and this article in todays Observer made some great points about the mixed feelings of a stage in life (I don't necessarily think it has to be at 50) and also some comment on menopause towards the end of the article.
I am finding myself noticing these articles when I wouldn't have before ;)

Hello BrightLight.
I haven't read this article but she was in the news recently complaining that her medical insurers had refused to pay for her hormone treatment !

Bit like the guy who wants his tanning products 'on' the NHS >:(

I read about her insurance company in the article, hadn't seen the news. She talks quite a bit about the general lack of support and services for many aspects of menopause.

I really enjoyed reading the article - she makes some interesting observations.
To be honest, there's a big difference between asking for tanning products on the NHS, and asking to have your palpitations investigated under health insurance you'd paid into. ???

There is probably a clause in the Insurance Policy ;) and I got bored half way down the article …… ::)
