I do sometimes but it's when my tummy is off.
Have you done the usual stuff...dental check...drinking plenty of water. Is your tummy ok ? GP check.....sinuses ok.

Some medications can cause alteration of taste, i.e. zinc or iron taste. As can food stuck between teeth ……. a low grade sinus infection?

dentist wants me to see oral specialist..but i think its meno as i had it 2 years ago as well..what dosage lanzoprazole are you on?
-
i am on 30 mg too..was on 60 to begin with ..had an endoscopy last june had esophigitis very slight and hiatus hernia...but dont get the pain and heartburn anymore
-
yes..its not a very nice drug but if it keeps the heartburn away its worth it...i was so anxious about endoscopy but took the pill they give you and dont remember anything
-
had it on and off since december .. had a worrying time as i found abreast lump and had to go for a mammogram and i think with all the stress it started that and my burning sore tongue..lump had disappeared so all was fine thank goodness..but i think between hormones and stress it just wiped me out

See the oral specialist. Always better to get all possibilities covered.
If the medication doesn't 'suit' then ask your GP for something else, there are a lot of medications out there - ladies of a 'certain' age are well known for developing hiatus hernia …….. drop in oestrogen = laxity of muscles ;)
So far I find that Rennies and other like-minded products help when I get heartburn and reflxu, usually because I take my medications too close to bed time!

Hi gina123
I don't think anyone has mentioned "pine mouth".
Do you eat pine nuts reguarly or have you gone through phases of eating them?
I had a period of time with a horrible taste, and yes it was bitter - and convinced I had something wrong with mouth or teeth, but when I googled it I found that some people get this after eating pine nuts - the ones that come from China apparently are a mix of types and some have this effect in some people.
I stopped the nuts (took 'em back to H&B!) and it disappeared after about a week or so.
I may be way off here but just in case....thought I'd mention it.

:thankyou: had forgotten about those, not that I eat pine nuts ………….. [leave those for the squirrels ;) :-X ]
-
no.. not eaten pine nuts but have used tongue scraper so think i may have inflamed my tastebuds
-
:beaurk: and if the tongue scraper hasn't been boiled then there may be bugs lurking ……..
-
