Title: Where's Silverlady?
Post by: Limpy on February 17, 2015, 05:02:57 PM
I think she's gone.
Her posts are now in the name of Rowan and they show as Guest.
Does anybody know whats's happened?

MODIFIED

Ok - I did a search (should have done it before posting - I know  :-\).
It's a shame she's gone - I was just about to PM her about heart problems.
Hey ho.
I hope she keeps well.

She has left due to.....well you probably know why. It's really such a shame.

If you want to get in touch Limpy then PM me as she said I could put her friends in touch if they wanted.

I will miss her and it's all so unnecessary  :-\

I fear I added to this exit - inadvertently.  I am not sure how I feel about this website now, which is a shame as women really do need sources of information and support about the menopause.  It's coloured my view somewhat

Silverlady has had these problems before so its not new.

She is fine...just had enough for now.

The forum has these issues at times....no where is perfect I'm afraid.

I understand that, a forum builds because of it's members and the content is led by them.  I just thought I had found somewhere that had a broader base of experiences and interaction beyond HRT. As a newcomber to this whole area, I hadn't really twigged soo enought that this was the case :)

Wow, can you remove the personal email link please.

You dont really want that on an open forum.

Silverlady has been in touch with me to say that apart from family and three members of MM, no one has her email address.

So that begs the question  :-\

Been a while since anything like this has happened. Shame silverlady felt the need to leave, but these things happen. She'll maybe come back again in the future.

We certainly don't need trolls.

Stay safe silverlady if you read this.

SHAME, SHAME SHAME.

I thought the forum was a bit empty yesterday.  After reading the offending thread I now understand.

Perhap the site should be renamed 'HRT Matters'.

I won't be posting for a while, in protest and sympathy for Silverlady.

HB- can you let Silverlady know I'm sad she has gone... I like having a balanced approach to all things menopause as one size does not fit all.

It's just a shame that she felt victimized and had to leave with no support at all.

As I said before, all opinions should be respected.

On here we don't know one another but we do know we are going through the same emotions and if bad comments are being thrown at us it will be taken personally and bring us down. SL got a bit more than her fair share,
Yes we should respect others opinions, if we don't like opinion don't respond, others may value that opinion x

Title: Re: Where'e Silverlady?
Post by: BrightLight on February 18, 2015, 02:18:46 PM
SL's opinion was really helping me as I search through my options and get to grips with various changes going on for me.  Fortunately I have used the search function to follow up some of her tips and find various threads that talk about the things I am interested in.  It doesn't change the sense that she isn't being supported and I guess anyone else, including myself will not find it easy to 'join in'  - but that's OK.

I still might post what is working for me :)

I'm trying to talk her into coming back, but I'm not sure how successful I will be.

Perhaps it would be an idea to have an "alternative "  section that those who are not able or don't want to go down the HRT route would feel comfortable asking and discussing things without any worries of science being the main theme.

Perhaps if enough of us were to ask the administrator, and as the forum is undergoing some work, it might be possible to have a dedicated alternative section.

Would anyone be interested in asking......should I start a new topic, and ask for a "show of hands" Then we could ask if it was possible.

Just a thought.

I think this idea makes perfect sense, the main website has a section for alternative therapies and techniques like homeopathy and accupuncture and it would make sense to me that the forum reflected this.  :)

I would value that Honeybun, HRT is not an option for me and Silverladys posts were always good to read about different avenues to  explore. If you need a show of hands mine are waving!

This is from Silverlady.........

Don't post to MM on a kindle if you have one, it does not recognize certain certain words and will put a similar sounding word in its place and won't let you correct it.

It was assumed by MM that I intentionally was rude and insulting to a member even though I said that I was on my kindle and I was sorry about the typo. I assumed they thought I was being sarcastic which I certainly was not.

The consequence was that my account was suspended. I deleted my account myself

This and all that has happened to me on MM plus the Troll post compounds the reason why I felt I could not carry on with MM.

I have made some lovely friends on MM but it has also caused me a lot of anxiety and stress, which Emma was aware of.

Thank you for all the members who have supported me.
