:welcomemm:  Do you feel generally well?

when are you due for Well Woman check?  Get your Practice Nurse to do a health screening and check for vaginal atrophy.  This can mimic urine infection symptoms. A urine sample should be sent to a Laboratory to see if it requires Anti-biotic therapy.

VA can be treated with topical oestrogen which you can discuss with your Practice Nurse/GP.  Have a browse of the menus, left of screen.

Needs checking out at surgery.

Perhaps choose a name to use on site rather than email address for your own safety.

Why would anyone though  :-\ …….. it would never cross my mind to not ask a GP/Practice Nurse to do the test - free  ;).       These things need to be stored and used correctly tha knows  ;)

Catkins

I have had blood in my urine. The doctor sent me to a bladder specialist and had a a camera inserted and my bladder was fine.
The Consultant did say that sometimes the doctors dipsticks can be unreliable he did another and it was fine and has been since.

Hope this helps....

Rebecca

I had blood in my urine - apparently this is quite common at our age.  Had the cystoscopy to check my bladder and was told I probably had interstitial cystitis which was causing my urethra to burn and giving me UTI type symptoms. Local and systemic HRT has really helped.  DG x

Hi Catkins,

Did you go to your GP and find out what was causing it? Hope you are feeling better anyway.
