It helps calm me, I don't use it all the time,  when I do I apply some to my inner wrists in the evening and it does help with sleep.

I find estrogen does the opposite and I get brain chatter which disturbs my sleep.

I am post menopause and don't use HRT as I have had a hyst. I have more lee way and use as I need.

Hi vanessa spain

We did discuss this a while back - your anxiety could be due to too little oestrogen, or the fact that you are using a synthetic progestogen giving adverse side effects.

In answer to your question - I've never tried the cream because I've always used progesterone as part of my HRT. I have always been a worrier but would never consider that I have ever suffered from anxiety during peri-menopause and beyond.

What do I think about it? Well I think you would be better off changing your HRT prescription to something more natural rather than using progesterone cream which is very weak anyway. When you last asked about this I suggested that you could change to a transdermal oestrogen (patch or gel) along with progesterone (the same stuff as in the cream but more of it!).

At the moment you are taking a synthetic progestogen which is a more powerful compound in its action than natural (bio-identical) progesterone. The cream is unlikely to add anything significant I'm afraid. I wouldn't like to think of you wasting your money before trying out a more "natural" approach to your HRT.
