Anyone else having trouble with spots - particularly on throat and chin?? Am in peri...
-
Apparently like teenage acne? ::)
It'll be chin hairs next ;)
-
Yep - thought I'd outgrown that..... :P
-
….. it catches up with us :D
-
Yep - GP has prescribed a low dose antibiotic which is helping. Mine gets worse during/after my period rather than before, so I think it's progesterone withdrawal. Hate it ! x
-
Oh, yes - so many on my chin I look like I have measles. So I have a teenage chin and the rest of my face looks like my own grandmothers'. Not a good combination. >:(
Am also starting to grow a beard.
-
I've taking to hiding a sneaky pair of tweezers all over the place so I can do a quick deforesting job when no one's looking. Have even mastered the art of doing it at traffic lights using the rear view mirror without anyone being able to see (just looks like an iffy chin scratch ... I hope!) ;) x

I'm wondering if I should maybe just grow the beard...at least it would hide the spots and some of the wrinkles ;D
-
::) ……… I sometimes think wearing a Burka would be fine when I haven't had time to find the tweezers, find the 'hide and heal' as well as the mirror in which to look at my face ::)

I had a couple of outbreaks of the acne type spots pre menopause. My kids thought it hilarious as I had never had acne as a teenager. The doctor hadn't a clue and thought it connected to dry scalp problems and prescribed ABs which didn't do much for IBS and nothing at all for the spots. What did help was patience and time, both times the spots faded after a year or so. Unfortunately, it's happened again after trialling testosterone. I have found that there has not been no obvious benefit from using testosterone, only spots, which have worsened since stopping. Hopefully, as before I just have to be patient and the spots will fade. I find makeup doesn't irritate the spots and tones down the redness. Perhaps letting the chin hairs grow will help! My daughter reckons I've started my second childhood anyway!

TCP :-*
Though it's not so great if you're going out anywhere...

Hi, yep had lots of spots on chin, i found vit c and a honey face mask left on for 15mins helpful.
-
Aren't you inclined to eat the honey ;D ……. TCP is great, dabbing on spots, cleaning wounds, gargling with …….

Does HRT help to heal spots at all? My face looks awful :'( :'( :'(
-
HRT has made no difference to mine, but a very low dose antibiotic, taken for an extended period of time, has helped a lot.

Wishing I'd never complained about the ones on my chin...I have one on the end of my NOSE now which is much worse. >:(
If only it were still Christmas...I'd make a lovely Rudolph ;D
-
I'm same as Briony.
Also find not touching my face and neck when I'm nervous or thoughtful helps :)

I had a bout of acne early on in the menopause on one side of my face.
The doctor said it was either hormonal or the new face cream I had started using.
I was given an antibiotic to apply on the skin, stopped using the face cream( went back to my usual one) and the acne went. Haven't had anymore since.
As for hairs, I swear I'm getting side burns :-\
