Hi and welcome to MM thrifties
AT 45 you are a bit young to be without any oestrogen to protect your heart and bones - have the doctors suggested you use some oestrogen?
Do read up all the info under the headings to the left of this screen to get really clued up.
Hopefully others who have had a hyster will be along soon to advice and support.
Keep posting DG x

After my hysterectomy, in my mid 30s, I had to wait a few weeks before GP put me on oestrogen. Can't remember the reason why though. Think it was to see if flushing started. They did, big time!

Hi Thrifties - I agree with Dancinggirl that at your young age you should be offered some sort of hrt at least up to the usual age of menopause (51ish)

Hi from Staffordshire as well-stone in fact (not far from Stafford for people who haven't heard of it)
I was told I had to wait for three months before starting HRT after my oophorectomy-which was two years after my hysterectomy. I have recently after to stop HRT-at 44 due to breast issues, GP has told me I will need a bone density scan at 50-as I am now at high risk of osteoporosis.
