Heck, not again. This time a bin lorry has crashed into pedestrians outside Queen Street station beside Millennium hotel. Not sure how it happened.
-
Just read it on Sky News, absolutely awful, six dead and many casualties.
So very sorry for all involved.
-
Will be causing mayhem as roads in centre have been closed. Such a busy area at the best of times.
-
BBC news hasn't confirmed any fatalities. Dreadful - made worse at this time of year :'(
-
Oh no.
I
My daughter said the city was very busy this morning and thats a very busy area.
So very sorry.

Just seen the pictures and I'm so very shocked. George Square in Glasgow is a very popular area, with Xmas lights and entertainment. I know exactly the spot it has happened
So selfish but I'm so glad my girl is home as she was shopping in the city this morning.
What on earth has happened.

Just phoned my brother to check he's okay and he is. It's the randomness of these things that worry me.
-
This is tragic, such a busy place this time of year. Just over a year from last tragedy, I feel sick watching news, heart goes out to the people.
X
-
Horrible for the Emergency Services, having to clear up after such incidents :-\
-
Just found out about this.
So tragic. :'(
-
Incredibly sad and tragic -makes me realise that we should make the most of each day...
-
So so sad.
It's horrible at any time but it seems even more awful at this time of the year.
BBC News are saying the driver of the bin lorry had a heart attack - nothing can prevent that........
-
He's being treated in Hospital. Something he will have problems coming to terms with :'(
-
Friend of son's GF was in that area just an hour before. She says Glasgow centre is mayhem as roads are closed.
-
Eventually managed to track my son down. He works funny hours. Either US Times or UAE and I'm never sure what. He is a real city boy, any way he was in the office well out of Glasgow thank God.
My daughter's friends were putting out messages wanting all the girls to check in, all ok although one dropped a friend off at Queens St just before it all happened.
Still to hear the names. Scotland can be a very small place and everyone on my part of the coast heads for Glasgow over the Xmas period. I like to go to the square to watch the ice skating.
This is another tragedy after the Clutha Bar last year.
My heart is heavy tonight.
Glasgow folk rose to help as they always do.

Definitely HB, I'm on the coast line and Glasgow is the place to be this time of year, worrying when you know kids always head there, so sad.
X

Can I ask where. I'm near the place famous for the ice cream parlour and I can see Millport from my window.
If your not happy saying then that's fine 8)
As I said my son lives in the city and my daughter is at uni. They go all over the city. I had the same issue last year because both of my two were in the city the night of the Clutha.
Small city, and why again.

A small village about 15 mins from you! Small world eh I can see Arran from mine lol.
Ye one of mine was there last year in the scotia? Think that's the name, they had been up on Saturday doing shopping it just puts me on edge all of this.
X
-
Oh heck, we have probably passed each other in the street. Maybe went to the same school. Are you north or south of me. ?
Honeyb
x
-
Lol I'm hopeless at North south!
Put it like this I would get same train line to glasgow as you, 2nd stop from you, craft town, think you'll get it now
X
-
;D ……… what if you hated each other in School, I would stop now :-X
-
Lol I like this game
I worked in a shoe shop there HB began with S you would have been in so I may have served you!
-
Ok it begins with W. I am one stop north of you.
Shoe shop beginning with S. Umm can't think if if it's in the village.
Ok did you go down the line to school or up. I grew up in A and went to school there. Worked in a shoe shop in S as a Saturday girl for years.
Moved to L 20 odd years ago and that's where my kids went to school. Moved to F four years ago.
Ooo wonder who you are. When did you start secondary school ?
Heck it's a small world. Pass your village so often on my way to my mum's.

Oh HB this is so funny!
I thought you were in L but no closer F, the shoe shop I worked in was in L 25 years ago lots of branches in Glasgow too I travelled there doing there windows. I grew up in W and went to school in A from 82 till 88 then straight to shoe shop, my kids went to A, this is weird but good.
X
-
Sorry I'm giggling. ;D I know all these places as used to stay just outside Glasgow.
-
I left school in 78 So I'm a good bit older than you. 54 this year. My youngest left L Academy two years ago so if you had kids there ;D
I worked all over. The local one was the oil refinery in A.
Bet we know some of the same people though. It's a small place don't you think.
The only shoe shop I can think of is Clark's, but it's not that.

This is so strange, sitting typing this and Milly is about five miles away from me.
It's code that you get CG, but you know where I live and now you know where Milly lives too.

Honeb - Does the place where you live have two words in the name?
-
Certainly is a small place! Probably know some same people. It was Saxone I worked, our kids probably know some same people too. 20 n 23
Cubagirl are you dropping a hint with a letter?
I was giggling too this is funny
X
-
No I am the one word place, Milly is the two. Have you figured it out Limpy ;D
My kids are 20 and 25 so the chances are our youngest were in the same year. Oh heck maybe we actually know each other but don't realise that we do....ok freaking out here. What are the chances of this for heaven's sake. Is your youngest a boy or girl ?.
Honeyb
x
-
Can you see the power station Honeyb?
-
Oh dear this is weird.
Youngest is a girl, she went to A but with social network and that they all know everyone, oh I hope not lol she is always up to no good wouldn't want the blame of leading yours astray! No she not that bad. Could have drove passed you on shore road and everything,
X
Limpy you are good x
Maybe this should have been in private bit HB or we could be getting a lot of visitors trying to spot us!
-
No, but if I stand on a chair in the dining room I can see the coalport Limpy. Well the flashing lights anyway. Oh and the biggest windmill in Britain is being trialled nearby too. We have the lot.
Add into that if you don't look south we just have islands and the Arrochar Alps in the distance.
Can't say we don't do the lot ;D

My lips are sealed............
-
Is your youngest at uni, college or work Milly ?
Most of the regulars here worked our where I was from years ago. Think I have given enough hints ;D
Not as if we walk around our towns with badges.
I often look at women my age and wonder. Now i will wonder even more ;D
Honeyb

At work HB, she had a Saturday job from age 15 and intended going to college for midwifery but got more hours in job when leaving school and held off, then full time hours so avoided college, probably best as she has changed her mind so often lately and enjoys the money, then changes and thinks of something else she would like, I just let her get on with it.
I've found myself looking at people and wondering too, must put a smile on my face just in case ;D
We are all going through the same anyway
X
-
We do indeed Milly.
I'm off to mums in the morning. She lives where we went to school. I will wave to you on my way through ;D
Honeyb
x

I'll watch out lol
See they have started with sick comments on Twitter about this tragic accident police looking into it. Some people!

The scenes from Glasgow this morning are so very sad.
No names released as yet or news of the injured. Such a terrible thing to have happened.
Honeyb

It just shows you never know what is around the corner. Treasure each day and live it to the full.
-
So sad! The driver of the bin lorry, if he survives, will never ever forgive himself.
-
Feel so sorry for everybody effected - especially the driver of the bin lorry, he will feel diabolical if he does survive.
-
I read that as 'left school at 78' ;D :-X
'behind you!' - 'oh no she isn't' - sorry, rambling again ::)
Parts of the City still cordoned off. Awful for everyone ……..
-
Just heard on the news that 3 of the dead were from the same family - very sad........
-
Oh dear, will need to catch up on it later, heartbreaking
X
-
very sad - grandparents with grand-daughter :'( plus others
-
Just terrible for all families involved, but to have 3 at the one time... No words, thinking of all them today
