Title: Tunes - that go on and on and …..
Post by: CLKD on December 11, 2014, 04:36:38 PM
It's the time of year when there are those annoying jingles ….. does anyone else find that if you hear a tune it stays in the brain, repeating itself  ;D …….. yesterday it was Jingle Bells [wonder why], no doubt there will be another along before long  ::)

I've been singing it with the children in circle time at nursery.
I wake up with going round  ::) & round ::) in my head.

why's it always one you hate that gets stuck in your head? I'm allergic to Boney M and their tunes stick. I've got that "oh my lord" one in my head now  >:(

People with Alzheimer's can often remember ( and can sing) all the verses of very long songs from their childhood or younger days, even if they can't remember what day it is or where they are..... they also get earworms and can sing the same bit of a song over and over again! ::)

I rely on earworms to get me through my swimming. Usually last song I've heard on car radio before my swim.  ;D

I remember year's and years ago working in a factory and this one piece of machinery to which I was assigned to for 8 hours had a repetitive sound which I swear it sounded like the tune to 10CC I'm not in love and it constantly went round and around in my head all day and night !  :spin:

My grandson is currently going through a phase ( well I hope it's a phase!) of singing/trumpeting the tune of Wallace and Gromit VERY loudly and frequently, to the extent that DH and I are humming it when he's not around. Now I'm a fan of W&G, but .........aaaah!

Train stations in France have a jingle that plays whenever an announcement is made.  It's extremely short - 5 notes, to be precise - but catchy and it's right back in my head, even after writing about it here!

I did.  The complete tune and the station jingle both have a continental feel.   Nice!  I'll be able to impress Hubby with my knowledge of it when we're back there, soon.   Thanks Taz2!  But, as I say, it's now stuck!     :)
