Title: Any IBS sufferers noticed that HRT improves your IBS symtpoms?
Post by: Dandelion on November 19, 2014, 03:04:49 PM
Hi

I was on Femoston, but wasn't absorbing the pills, and one of the things that has come with my flushes and sweats is IBS.

I went onto evorel 50 patches with utrogestan, and it's got rid of some of the flushes and sweats, but, most notibeceably, my IBS symptoms have really improved.

Has any other IBS sufferers noticed?

Hi Dandelion. Funnily enough, just posted on another thread, exactly this outcome! I too am on Evorel 50 Conti, and although not been officially diagnosed with IBS, have had very bad bloating, constipation and pelvic pain in the last three years , when my symptoms really kicked in, even though I was 18 months with no periods. I was having problems with a lot of foods, such as tomato sauces, curries, mushrooms, cheeses, all would grumble and squeal on their way down, but although I wouldn't say it's 100% gone, it is a lot better, and the constipation is now rare. So, yes, I think you are right!

Hi Wanderer,

Woops, I also started another thread on all things meno, forgetting I had started this.
My doctor never officially diagnosed IBS but when I kept coming back with bowel problems, she could see that I had it.
I am chuffed that my IBS has gone, because I hated that morning performance every day, and not daring to go out until my bowels had completely emptied, because if I did, I could guarantee that I would need to go whilst out.
