Hi all,
I am 52 and had my last period 2 years 2 months ago, I do have other unrelated health issues however unlike some of you ladies I sailed through my menopause- no problems at all.
However, the last couple of weeks I have had very swollen, tender breasts with uncomfortable nipples: and slightly bloated abdomen, I also feel like I'm going to have a period but clearly nothing has happened.
Anyone else had the same? Or any explanation
Slightly troubled

Hi Carolineanne
Snap!! I am also 52 and my last period was just over two years ago and my breasts keep doing the tender thing like I used to get just before a period. This is about the third month in a row it has happened but no bleed so far. I think Stellajane must be right, it must be our hormones having a final fling (s).
Good to know I'm not the only one with this happening.

Yep. HORMONES. I get various tenderness in the breasts as well as feelings like background 'period pains' and think 'oh not again' - last period in 2002

This us really interesting. I wonder how many others on this forum have cyclical tender breasts years after their last period?
The reason I ask is because all the medical sites I have looked at seem to state quite categorically that this doesn't happen post meno. Obviously written by men!!!!
