Been watching the forecast as we are right in the path of this storm.
Just been looking round the garden wondering what to move.
Typically hubby is away today on a jollie with my son in Glasgow, so it looks like it's up to me.
Hope it's not as bad as they expect. If we hang onto our electricity I will be happy, oh and our roof ::)

It's supposed to hit here as as well.
OH is going to wander around this afternoon securing things that need it.
-
Hate these October storms. Someone told me snow is forecast too. Think that's just on the mountains though, at least I hope so.
-
We've got possible snow forecast too. It's a bit early, especially since today it's quite warm.
-
Hubby home now so we are just going out to tie up some plants and stack away pots.
Not looking forward to this.
I wonder if I will get to mothers in the morning as ten miles of the journey is right next to the sea :o

I live in Scotland along the coast its a nightmare when the storms hit, feeling it coming on just now brrrr
-
OH has secured things.
HB be careful in the morning - strong winds and sea aren't a good combination
-
Wind starting to whip up now. Where we live there are trees lining main road near our house. No doubt there will branches strewn about come the morning. The sea will no doubt be rough too, but we live about a mile away as the crow flies so we will be safe from that at least.
-
I'm at the top of a hill, so although I can see the sea....it can't get us ;D

Just up and its quite calm at the moment. It was blowy in the night but nothing much. Think it may get windy later but for now it's just fine.
Off to mothers with no problems I would think.

Was quiet during the night, but got wakened 15 minutes ago with a torrential squall.
-
Very windy from about 4am on - Seems worse if anything now :o
-
I don't know what the fuss was all about this time. Yes it was wet and windy but as someone said on the TV, it was a two peg washing day ;D
Sun now shining brightly, it's cold though.

Only 2 pegs! ;D Heck my washing would be in the north sea most days with only 2 pegs.
It's no stormier than normal for the time of year. As for BA cancelling 10% of flights out of Heathrow, what was that all about?
Just had another shower blow through.
-
Severe cross winds at Heathrow.
-
Thanks Ellie. Though don't remember them cancelling flights previously for strong winds.
-
Think it's more the direction of the wind, plus the strength......my pilot son was explaining it to me .
-
There was a Heathrow spokesperson on Radio 4 this morning explaining that due to the direction and expected strength of the winds planes would take longer to travel down the runway and lift off meaning the flights behind would then be delayed in a knock-on effect. It made sense to take out some of the flights to leave the ones still flying taking off on time. I think that's what he said..

Glasgow airport was running ok.
Lots of ferries off though. Our local ferry was cancelled, I really didn't know why although I bet the island kids were not complaining.....they couldn't get over to go to school.

Aberdeen seemed to be OK, even a few helicopters.
-
Holyhead to Dublin ferry was cancelled yesterday.
-
We were spared. Out in the country had it really bad.
