I have got a bit of a thing going on with Jelly Beans at the moment.
I am rationing myself to three a day....but oh I could eat a whole packet. Totally rubbish food.
What's your favourite sweet....No chocolate allowed.

I love the little coconut mushrooms, but dare not buy them, for the same reason as above ;D (http://;D)

I know you said no chocolate but chocolate limes are my favourite ;D
Also mint imperials & skittles.
-
M&S Rosey Noses. nicest sweets I've ever tasted.
-
For me it would be Mint Crumbles from M&S. Do they still sell them? It's a good thing I can't get them here.
-
Forgot Wrigley's chewy mints. Can't get at moment.
Haven't seen m&s mint crumbles for ages minkusmum.
-
I don't like sweets and never eat them, but what I do like is jelly cubes, not made up, I like to tear off a cube when I fancy something sweet ( though not a sweet as confectionary sweets.)

My favourite is raspberry and strawberry.
-
I used to eat jelly cubes when I was little.
The shops are full of Halloween sweets. I love the Haribo mix ones.

Does White Chocolate count as chocolate?
To me it doesn't count, can't abide white chocolate.
So, following that logic, the white Ferrero Rocher sweets covered in coconut are pretty good.
It's the coconut and hazlenuts..........
-
Haribos. Terribly addictive. I bought a huge box at Makro and am wondering if I should bin it. I don't open a packet for weeks but when I do - oh dear. I like the wine gummy ones, not the ones that look like a fried egg.
-
:-\ nowt there I would want to share ……….
-
Well what do you like CLKD.

Chocolate ………. ::) …. although the packet of 'fingers' purchased this week are thinner and smaller than originally!
Chocolate elcairs; bananas; various types of yoghurts ::)
-
Well what kind of sweets did you like as a child.

I've been trawling my brain cell: Rainbow Drops; Love Hearts; Smarties; Rolos; jelly babies; bubble gum - square packets with a collectors card ……..
I saw a packet of Sponge Fingers last week which brought back memories ::)
-
Jelly babies, liquorice allsorts, shrimps, sherbet lemons, treacle toffee, rhubarb n custards, cola cubes, spangles. I could go on ;D
-
We have an old fashioned sweet shop in our town. It has huge glass jars full of every sweet you can think of.
They also make tablet and the smell as you walk past on a cold morning is just wonderful.

When in your area a few weeks ago we bought lots of tablet and had to limit ourselves ;D
Galadriel has reminded me - Black Jacks or Fruit Salads, 4 for a penny; I could never get the liquorice stick to draw up the sherbet lemon >:( - we have several old fashioned sweetie shops across Northants and Leicestershire ;)
-
Just remembered - Everton Mints.
-
HB you may remember this, Lewis's in Argyle Street, back in the 60s used to sell old fashioned sweeties down in the basement. Every time we hit Glasgow for a shopping trip we'd come back with chocolate coated puff candy, wine gums, floral gums & cherry lips. ;D
-
Oh I do remember that CG. Glasgow day out treat.
I used to love a sherbet dib dab.
My daughter decided to be really healthy today and came home with......a toffee apple ;D

;D ;D ;D
I've found a recipe for a toffee apple cake. Must try it out on big bro & SIL on Friday night.
Used to be a raspberry flavoured lolly which came with lemon sherbet, can't remember name, I loved that. Gobstoppers too.
-
Just remembered what I do like sherbet flying saucers
(http://d13z1xw8270sfc.cloudfront.net/origin/1978/flying_saucers.jpg)
I can just taste the rice paper dissolving in my mouth and that lovely hit of sherbet :)
-
I loved red ice lollies. Only trouble was I was allergic to the red food colouring and would come out in a rash within hours.
Used to go out to play and be given some money for a lolly and was told.....now don't get a red one. I always got the red one and would deny it when I got home despite having the biggest rash. I always thought I would get away with it ;D

We had hard sugary lollies of different colours dependant on how long I sucked it :D
-
I know this is chocolate, but does anyone remember a 'Cabana' I used to love these!!! LOL - I'm sure that's what it was called, it was coconut, cherries and chocolate in a bar!!
-
Yes,I remember cabana robotwars.
Aztec was another one.
-
Parma violets, lemon bonbons, banana split toffees.
Anyone remember Callard & Bowser's liquorice fingers? Buchanan's made treacle "pennies" both were so yummy.
-
I used to love toffee, now I'm scared my teeth would fall out ;D
Honeyb

-
Ooooo - Treacle Toffee
Had forgotten about that.
-
It's my fillings I'm worried about. ;D
-
Yeah - But I can still imagine ;D
-
I can still remember the full flavour of those treacle toffees. Delish! ::)
-
Spangles & sherbet pips
-
I loved Spangles. Had competitions with my friends to see who could suck it the thinnest.
Now for crisps......salt and vinegar for me although I do like roast chicken. Anyone tried the daft new flavours that are out ?
Any recommendations.

Haven't tried the new flavours HB but my faves are ready salted & cheese & onion.
Like the sensations crisps too, chicken & thyme mmmmm!!
-
Jelly babies, dolly mixtures, licorice allsorts, frys cream I never buy these as once i do I eat the whole packet . Love other chocs/sweets too but can get by :D on one mouthful,
-
Sherbet pips, wow that takes me back. Floral gums.
Crisps, now I have to be careful as there are many I can't have. But partial to Worcester Sauce, Tomato Ketchup, Prawn Skips.
-
Where we stayed on holiday this week there is a shop that sells all these old fashioned sweeties in jars just like when I was a child. Hubby and I went in on Monday and I got a quarter of sherbet pips and jelly babies which are my favourite. He bought parma violets and a quarter of bon bons..
They have everything you could ever remember in there. Does anyone remember the coloured crystals that you got in a bag and dipped your finger in and licked it off and your finger changed colour, and kali and sherbet fountains and flying saucers, gob stoppers that changed colours, barley sugar, spangles the list is endless................................
-
I was always partial to cola cubes and pineapple cubes.
As for crisps ... I'm a huge fan of root vegetable crisps. I have been known to get through a large bag on my own whilst having a family sofa/movie night ;D
Claire xx
-
Me to Claireylou :) one you start a bag of vegetable crisps its hard to stop.
-
I tell myself that because they're made from root veggies I'm getting my five a day ... Works for me ;Dxx
-
;D We can but wish. I love the beetroot ones, but there are never many in the packets. Hubby hates vegetable crisps with a passion, so I'm left to eat them. ;D ;D ;D
-
That must be a real chore for you CG xx ;D
-
The things us women have to do, honestly! ;D ;D ;D
