When we went through our normal menstrual cycles  - after the bleed or even during it, our oestrogen levels would begin to rise and increase rapidly until around ovulation - and many women ( myself included) could actually feel the surge of oestrogen and the tension (due to pmt) melting away. For me the tight band from headache and tension would disappear and I could relax again.

With HRT the oestrogen levels is constant and nowhere near the level we encountered during our fertile days so we are on much more of an even keel. Also it depends where in your HRT cycle the bleed comes - this may also affect how you feel when it's over.

Unfortunately the outcome is not perfect with HRT for many of us, but the best possible in the circumstances (menopause) - sadly  :( . As long as you feel better than when you are not taking hRT overall - then that may be the best you can hope for  :)
