Title: Pre-menaposal
Post by: Moody on September 24, 2014, 08:40:51 PM
Feel awful, have just been to doctors prescribed HRT patches, can anyone tell me if they help with the anxiety. Very much up and down days with the anxiety.

 :welcomemm: ...........

Anxiety is a common thread here.  We deal with it in various ways.  I'm  sure someone on HRT will be along.  Have a read of menus, left of screen and there is a search button - if you type in the type of HRT your GP has prescribed you will see appropriate threads.

Hi Moody

 :welcomemm:

Perhaps tell us a little more about yourself eg how old you are, and whereabouts in menopause ie how regular etc your periods are? Also which type of HRT and whether it is the type that gives you a bleed (ie two weeks on oestrogen only and then 2 weeks on the combi patches?)

Many women find the physical symptoms are the first to go but anxiety may take a little longer. You need to give each type 3 months to get your body used to it. Sometimes the progestogen in the patches gives rise to side effects but there always other options if these ones don't suit you - let's hope they do!

Good luck and let us know how you feel!
