Hi! Just wanted to ask a quick question as I'm not sure where I go from here.
My Doctor prescribe cerazette mini pill to help control periods that were really heavy, he has told me to go away and try them and come back in 3 months, problem is I still have the menopause symptoms, just wondered whether there was anything I can take with the mini pill?

Hi robotwars
Not sure where you are in menopause but yes you can take HRT with the minipill. The only thing is that the progestogen dose in the mini-pill isn't usually high enough to protect the womb with standard oestrogen doses so you would need to take a combi HRT. I'm not sure if the mini-pill is taken all the time?
The other alternative is to have a Mirena coil which will deal with the heavy periods and act as the progestogen part of HRT, so you can then take oestrogen as well.
Just thinking have we had a conversation about this - are you the member who was advised to go on the mini-pill to see if you tolerated the protgestogen before trying a Mirena? Forgive me if I'm completely wrong here!
What symptoms are you wanting to control?
