.......tomorrow! Absolutely no room for meno moments, including the panics, my concentration flying out the window, brain jumble, tiredness or anything else like that. Don't want to be put off by the audience in any way, shape, size or form. They are not enemies!! I absolutely love all the music that I'm going to play and when I'm cool, calm and collected, I really am looking forward to communicating it. :) The lovely dress that I've bought for the occasion still fits (it had better do - I only bought it a few weeks ago!) and if I do get hot ('cos the church heating will be on), I'm going sleeveless. I've made a pact with myself not to have any wine during the interval - don't think that would help the second half at all :drunk: - but watch out for after it's all over!! My organ teacher has told me to go and enjoy the recital - and I'm going to. :great:

Good luck dulciana! Bet you'll be on here afterwards saying how you had nothing to fret over. Go & enjoy!
-
Have a wonderful time! Wish I could hear you play! I should be singing with the choir tomorrow, but have opted out as I was getting stressed about having the pain come back and disrupting the proceedings! Not a pain you can gracefully fade into the background with! Let us know how you get on! Ju Ju xx

Hope it goes well Dulciana - I'd love to hear you play!

Cubagirl, Ju Ju, Hurdity and Purplenanny - thanks for your kind words! :thankyou:
Ju Ju - I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you think there will be any other concerts soon? And I wish I could hear you sing!
Cubagirl - I hope so!!
Hurdity - really?? How interesting! When, where, etc? (if you don't mind me asking)

You've done all the practice now enjoy the music, that's the main thing.
Have fun.
You'll feel so good when you've done it.

Hope you enjoy your concert. I used to be a pianist but got so nervous when faced with an exam or concert I used to make silly mistakes and didn't enjoy it. You sound as though you really enjoy it so I will look forward to hearing how it goes :)
-
Thanks Limpy, Bramble and babyjane. :thankyou:
A thought - how about starting a "Go for it, meno or not?" thread? I'd really love to hear about all the amazing things that other ladies have managed to do, despite the meno! And I'm sure there must be others.........! :)

Anticipation is worse than the Event, anticipation is worse than the Event, anticipation is ............
-
CLKD I totally agree and that is the nature of my anxiety, what if, what if, what if.............
-
You will be absolutely amazing!!!! Best of luck!

Today is the day - best of luck!

My Mum played the Church organ until she left for College at aged 19.
Even though I know anticipation is worse it doesn't stop those awful gut wrenching feelings :'( - hopefully the day goes well!
-
Hurdity, that's great that your father played for services. I do, too, every week and love to accompany the hymns - for me, organ-playing is sort of a form of worship in itself. These recitals are just every now and then, which is why they're so nerve-wracking!
Thanks CLKD - I agree about the gut-wrenching feelings! I had to look past them this evening and make myself eat some food before I played, otherwise, I'd not have had the strength to do it.
But I did it!! And I'm still alive!! And they seemed to like it!! Am now enjoying a large glass of wine and being kissed by hubby, who turned all the pages for me. :-*

Woohoo Dulciana :medal:
Enjoy the wine and hubby. I hope you sleep well tonight :-*
