Hi all can I ask can I take 5 HTP with HRT , a friend recommended them , she said they may help with the headaches, tiredness and energy, but worried about whether I can take them as I am on HRT :thankyou:

Yes you can. it has been spoken about before on the forum so if you do a search you will come up with something.
I would do my research though as I think there are a few unwanted side effects.

I was already taking them when I started HRT and it was fine, no side-effects at all.

Here is a recent thread on it:

Also pay attention that 5 HTPs should not be taken with any types of ADs or if you are taking St. Johns Worth. There is a risk of the so called "serotonin syndrome".

good luck with this moonbeam. I had trouble with SSRIs some years ago and tried this as an alternative. I did not like them and settled better with St John's Wort which I still take to stabilise mood but I hope that you get on all right, good luck.
