Anyone else suffered from loss of taste... ? I don't seem to able to taste much except for chocolate. !!! Ahhh.. very nice but gaining weight.. Also feeling bloated and certain things I used to be able to eat are now causing bloating and the associated after effects...! Like baked beans..Love em but they now don't love me.. I'm 54 I'm on HRT Elleste Duet Conti 2mg.. Been on that 3 months I had bloating for the last month.. Answered that for myself haven't I ??. But loss of taste.??? Anyone else. xxx

Your mention of loss of taste has made me wonder if I have something similar. My sense of taste and smell have never been very good but since starting to use Evorel patches in January I seem to have had a reduced appetite, just not enjoying food at all, and your post has made me wonder if it is related to the HRT. In addition I remember that during the early months of my first pregnancy I had a strong metallic taste in my mouth and that was certainly hormonal.
I'm sure others will be along with their experiences, you may just have hit on something there!

Hi Kathleen... Yes as you describe, reduced appetite.. Are you trying and thinking what can I eat that is worth the effort and giving the taste...? Trouble is I will eat whatever..! My stomach doesn't seem to be able to take as much food as it used to.. Maybe natures way of saying, 'you can eat less now' ! As you say the hormonal changes in early pregnancy and the tastes and smells around that are sort of similar... Its not fun. xx

My GP said the menopause, is teenage hormones, pregnancy hormones and PMT rolled into one for some women.
