Title: Swollen ankles
Post by: ellie on July 20, 2014, 11:47:59 AM
Does anyone else find their ankles get very swollen in the heat?
I am going on a coach trip tomorrow and just know they will be like big fat puddings  >:(....I know flight socks would be the answer, but I couldn't walk round in those all afternoon, and apart from that they are too difficult to put on.....
My right ankle is worse, because I have a knee replacement ( that they made a mess of ).....

Elevate as much as possible.  Is it possible to have a seat to yourself so that you can put the legs up, or sit at the front with a stool?  Are they worse by the end of the day?

Has your GP prescribed diuretics?

Where you going?

I will certainly put feet up if I get the chance......Going to Skipton market.

Oh lovely!  Antiques, bread, food, crafts ……….. do you have a small seat you could take with you to use?  Remember to drink plenty  ;)

Does the 'trolley' help?  How many are going on the trip?  My Mum is on a 'mystery' trip next week  ::) and has no clue where they will end up.  I did suggest twice round the town and end up in her garden  ;D

earlier this year when I was in South Africa, it was 36 degrees and my feet, toes and ankles puffed up horribly. I was just told to elevate them as much as possible. Not always easy when you're travelling and walking about is it?
I was a bit mortified because I thought it's just another example of bits falling off when you get older!

have a lovely time anyhow.
