Post by: sue bot on July 20, 2014, 08:09:30 AM
Hi went the doctors because hot flushes are getting really bad I asked about the h r t gel but he was not keen on giving h r t as I am 57 and he said there are lot of side effects for my age
So he prescribed prozac they are happy pills he said they help with the hot flushes
I dont want to start taking these as I am not depressed

I think you will find that the dosage he recommends for hot flushes  is lower than that for depression. Anti-ds are mentioned in the green menu on the left as helping with flushes.

Anti- deps are given for things other than depression.

I was given Prozac for MS linked fatigue.
The Neurologist stressed it wasn't for depression, it was for the way it operated on the receptors in the brain.

It worked to reduce the fatigue, but I got so ratty and had so little sleep I had to stop it.
