Has anyone else gone almost bald down below, or is it just me?
Is this a normal side effect of the menopause?
I remember Billy Connolly saying that it was a shock to find grey hairs down there, but baldness :o

Having been a medical secretary I remember seeing old ladies almost bare, I think it's natural ageing process. I have a few grey ones ………. and note that it doesn't seem as 'bushy' ::)

Why would a medical secretary be present when an examination was taking place :-\
Yes it's quite common. You have two choices......a comb over or a Brazilian ;D ;D

Perhaps it's the need for a chaperone?
I had to get a mole removed from my back earlier this year, the Dr was very keen to have a chaperone there, even though OH was present.
Like the others have said things seem to get a bit sparse down there. Also, with hair generally going grey, perhaps it's just another example of that.....

I was a med sec and was always asked to standby when papsmears were being done, hated it, didnt feel it was part of my job and was young and fresh outta college used to feel really awkward...

We went into Clinics to take patient details in shorthand: remember that! There was a Nurse present at all times unless sent for 'something', also as secretaries we often had to explain in layman terms what the Doctors had said ::). Once I got used to the terminology I loved it!
70+ ………… I had no idea that ladies thinned down there, I was 28 at the time ::)

Mine is still there worse luck though it has lost some colour, have always been bushy down there, wouldn't have minded less, probably the Mediterranean heritage. Though my under arms hair doesn't grow so much, I still have to shave my legs.
I have had to deal with unwanted hair since my teens, Nature could have been a little kinder in menopause I think.

There's a group of ladies that doesn't shave at all. Caught a 'discussion' when I opened up the lap-top earlier. One man had added his comments about being OK about his wife not shaving her legs 'but I draw the line when she began to grow a beard' >:( ……… good job I can't reach him :argue:

I trim mine, which is pretty grey these days. I have a bikini strimmer. ;D

Blimey I had no idea about this!!! Was bad enough finding my first white hair down there, just this week :o

Mine has shrunk away and vanished :(
Nothing prepares you for all of these changes, I just wish I had known in advance as I think it would have helped and perhaps I could have taken more positive action to limit the damage.
