Title: cherries arthritis ??
Post by: kerrieann on June 15, 2014, 07:33:58 PM
hi ladies this may sound a bit off the wall but have any of you heard of the benefits of cherries for arthritis pain ?
some of you may remember that i have been suffering with awful pain in my groin which they tell me is coming from the lower back for nearly 2 years i had a scan in feb and will see the dr for results 9th july  >:(
any way for the last few days i will be honest i have been pigging out on fresh cherries and the pain has almost gone, its never happened before i have maybe had the odd day its not been too bad but now its 80% better, so i googled and it seems many people get good relief from arthritis gout etc by eating cherries or capsules
any thoughts ladies x  kerrie

hi Kerrieann

Have not hear about cherries helping with Arthritis.  They are supposed to help people who have trouble sleeping. If it works for you that's good.  As I get Arthritis in my hand, may give it a go myself.

hi mazzy, i had never heard of it but myself and my partner have been racking our brains trying to work out why my pain had eased and the only thing i could think of was eating alot of cherries, i have just looked on amazon where they have cherry capsules and there are alot of good reviews,  i will be getting more cherries tomorrow and see how it goes rather them than drugs and their horrible side efffects lol

Quite true kerrieann   http://www.arthritistoday.org/what-you-can-do/eating-well/arthritis-diet/cherries.php

Coincidently I has just finished reading  a kindle book about cherries and arthritis.

If you google you will find lots of info.

I have the Cherry Extra freeze dried tart Montgomery Cherry supplement from amazon, which I had tucked away and forgotten about, after reading the kindle book, I took a couple last night and slept like a log!! so they do have an effect.

Eating fresh cherries and tinned ones will certainly help, they are also recommended for Gout.

Also - some pain is 'referred' from other areas.  I was having trouble every night from deep burning in my thigh and the sciatic nerve.  Eventually realised that I had spent 4 years bending over small jewellery cabinets at Fairs ……. so have needed to alter my posture.  Now I don't get as much trouble in the night ……...

All very interesting. I've just ordered some supplements to try.  My hips and lower back have been really bad lately and I'm struggling with sleep so maybe the cherries will help - worth a try and can't do any harm.
I've also ordered a tincture of valerian and hops to help with sleep. DG x
